Your Birth & Postpartum Doula

The person in your corner for the mountain-climb of birth.

I’m glad our paths crossed.

A woman sitting on a brown chair smiling at the camera, with sheer white curtains and a window in the background.

My work is about the reality of birth and the massive shifts that follow; the new roles, the big feelings, and the physical recovery. I’m here to help you build a steady, honest space where you can make your own choices with confidence, knowing you have someone reliable right there with you through all of it.

My Path to This Work

I was drawn to birth work because it was the closest thing to magic I’ve ever found. Watching women move through such a raw, feral transformation, seeing them come apart and then rebuild stronger, made me want to be part of that process in a meaningful way.

But I’ve also learned that birth and postpartum don't follow a script.

Birth is unpredictable. Postpartum is unpredictable.

That is why I call myself the ‘grey area doula.’ I work intuitively, picking up on the small details before they become big things. During birth, that might look like a well-timed hip squeeze the second a contraction starts, braiding your hair, or quietly guiding your partner so they can support you with confidence.

Once you are home, I troubleshoot the things you might not have the energy to think about, from feeding struggles to recovery tips. If something needs to be done, I just take care of it, no questions asked. Whether I am tidying your space or keeping your water full, I handle the logistics so you can stay in your bubble. My goal is to be the stable, grounding presence in the room so you can focus fully on yourself and your baby.

What I Believe.

Birth changes everything: your body, your rhythms, and your sense of self. You deserve support that is actually present through that shift, regardless of where or how you choose to deliver. Birth has become deeply political, and parents are often judged for the choices they make. I have no agenda to push and no "ideal" birth to sell you. This is not my story; it is yours.

Whether you are planning a low intervention home birth or navigating a hospital system, I am there to protect your ritual and bring a sense of calm to the environment. Plans shift and feelings change. Whether you are navigating a physiological birth, a planned induction, or the layers of a previous trauma, my role stays the same. I meet you exactly where you are without forcing you into a certain "type" of birth. You do not need a perfect plan to be ready; you just need a steady presence in your corner to help you navigate whatever the day brings.

Who I Work Best With.

My approach is a fit for those who value both a holistic heart and a practical head. I work best with clients who see our relationship as a partnership based on honesty and a willingness to navigate the grey areas together. We work as a team with your midwife or OB to make sure you feel heard and supported throughout the entire process.

Finding the right doula is a gut feeling. You should feel a genuine sense of ease, knowing you have someone by your side who stays adaptable as plans change and tells you the truth when things get complex. I believe that sense of comfort is the most important part of our work together. If you want a doula who is intuitive but stays rooted in the reality of birth, I would love to talk with you.

What Grounds Me.

When I’m not working with clients, I’m usually outside trail running or biking. I train for a marathon or ultramarathon every year, and this year I’m working toward my first 100km trail race in Newfoundland! I like having a goal to work toward and spend a lot of time on the trails around Bragg Creek and Kananaskis in the summer and fall.

I’m married to an amazing, very supportive husband. We’ve been together for almost 7 years and met working as lifeguards. We also have two cats, Alvina (the angel who has never done anything wrong in her life) and Phoebe (the one who keeps me up all night while she begs for food).

I read a lot, so if you’re into books, we’ll get along just fine. I mostly reach for literary fiction, historical fiction, thrillers, and fantasy, and if I find a book I love, I’ll usually finish it in a day or two. I’m always up for swapping recommendations!

I’m also a very creative person. I’ve had an acrylic painting business for the past five years, focusing on semi-realistic landscapes inspired by the Pacific Northwest and the Canadian Rockies. More recently, I’ve gotten into pottery, and my kitchen cabinets are overflowing with mugs I’ve made, all with woodland and mountain themes. It’s the perfect winter hobby, and I’ve definitely been known to stay at the studio until 2 or 3am when I’m working on something I just can’t pull myself away from.
